Dental Implants
Before
After
A dental implant is placed where the missing tooth was. A crown is placed over the implant.
The tooth cannot be saved. An implant is placed where the extracted tooth used to be and a crown is made.

Before dental Implants were developed, partials or dentures were the only options for replacing missing teeth.
Dental Implants are most ideal for replacing a missing tooth or teeth as they imitate the root(s) that once where present when the natural tooth was intact.
Implants are osseo (bone) integrated and act as a foundation for an artificial tooth (crown) or permanent bridge.
Dental Implants can be placed to help retain removable dental appliances such as; overdentures or partials.
Implants are beneficial because they help maintain bone, can be placed as a single unit so the teeth on either side are not effected, and improve a patient's ability to chew (especially for those patients who have lost all of their teeth).

Dental implants are placed where the patient has missing teeth. Implant crowns and natural tooth crowns are made to complete the treatment, and re-establish the vertical plane of the patient's bite.
